This rare parchment taken from the Koran contains āyat (versicle) 266 of the sūrat al-Baqara (II, "The Heifer"), of which only the first three letters of the first word are missing. The diacritic points are absent, and the vowel signs marked with red dots. Moreover, there is marked lengthening of the individual letters and a breaking of the letters in the slipping points, typical of archaic Arabic Kufi writing. The text is written on one side of the parchment only.
